Privacy policy

This page explains what SKORTA does with the information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Who we are

SKORTA provides dedicated single-vehicle transport and is based in Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. You can reach us on +44 7308 614008 or at info@skorta.co.uk. If you want any of the information below changed or deleted, those are the addresses to use.

What we collect, and only when you give it

This site has no login and no account. Nothing that identifies you personally is collected simply because you visited a page: our host keeps standard server request logs, and if — and only if — you accept analytics in the cookie bar, Google Analytics records anonymous usage statistics. Information that identifies you reaches us in two ways:

  • The quotation form. When you ask for a confirmed quotation we receive the collection and delivery locations you selected, the date, the trailer you chose, the vehicle you described, your name, your email address and, if you enter it, your phone number.
  • Contacting us directly. If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that conversation.

Estimates produced by the on-page calculator are worked out in your own browser. If you never send a request, nothing about your search reaches us.

Why we hold it, and for how long

We use your details to quote for the movement you asked about, to arrange it if you go ahead, and to keep a record of what was agreed. The lawful basis is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are plainly no longer live. Records relating to a completed movement are kept as long as we are required to keep business records.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a price.

Services this website relies on

  • Netlify hosts the site and receives standard server request logs.
  • Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and where they arrived from. It runs only if you accept analytics in the cookie bar — decline and it is never loaded. IP addresses are anonymised, and Google’s advertising, remarketing and personalisation features are switched off. We do not sell or share this data. Full detail is in our cookie policy.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on the site.
  • Address search. When you type into the collection or delivery box, the text you type is sent to postcodes.io and to the Photon service, which is built on OpenStreetMap data, so that matching places can be offered back to you. Distances are calculated using the OSRM routing service. These lookups carry only the text you typed and the coordinates of the places you chose.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@skorta.co.uk and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date below.
